Eritreans in UK call upon the UNHRC members to withdraw mandate
By Eritrea Embassy Media
Action Day - Eritreans in UK, call upon the UN Human Rights Council Members to withdraw the mandate you bestowed upon these persons and mark the report null and void!
Having read the COI report on Eritrea once, I had to reread it to make sure that the report was indeed about the people and government of Eritrea.
As you know Eritrea became an independent state in 1991 against all odds. Prior to independence the human rights of the Eritrean people were trodden by successive repressive regimes and it is a sad historical fact that the UN did not heed to the plight of the Eritrean people then.
Following independence the people and government of Eritrea embarked upon the process of rebuilding the nation counting on the scanty resources of the country and were faced with numerous economic hurdles. Nevertheless, contrary to the consensus of the external view, enemy or otherwise, that the nation building process would end up in utter failure, the country was on a steady course of progress.
The unexpected outcome and steadfastness of the Eritrean people has set alarm bells on the quarters who were hoping for the disintegration of the State of Eritrea and sadly the COI report is yet another ploy devised to destabilise and ultimately disintegrate the nation.
To this end many attempts have been carried out against the people and government of Eritrea. The deliberate instigation of the border war between Eritrea and Ethiopia, allowing the illegal occupation of Eritrean territories by Ethiopia and the manipulation of young Eritreans to migrate to affluent nations have all been engineered by the enemies of Eritrea with the sheer objective of forcing the economy to implode thereby reversing the independence of Eritrea.
