TPLF apologized for fake photo it used to blame Eritrea
The Ethiopian Dedebit government credibility falls apart after admitting it released a fake picture to smear the name of Eritrea.
The Federal Government Communication Affair of Ethiopia had shown to the world photos of “captured weapons” supplied by Eritrea to terrorist groups.
The picture showing rocket-propelled grenades and other weapons turned out to be a Getty Image taken from the internet which was photographed by Chris Hondros near Fallujah in Iraq after the U.S. 82nd Airborne Division seized the large weapons.
This is not the first time the TPLF led EPRDF government has lied to Ethiopian public. According to the Wikileaks cable, the U.S. government knew that Ethiopian security forces planted three bombs that went off in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa on September 16, 2006, and then blamed Eritrea and the Oromo resistance for the blasts.
