THE ETHIOPIAN'S ARMAGEDDON IS ON THE BRINK!

Thomas Jefferson, “We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” Unfortunately, today in Ethiopia no one has unalienable rights to live with liberty and pursuit of happiness. The citizens of Ethiopia have been denied their fundamental rights in which they were endowed by the Creator. Sadly, the TPLF’s regime has no utmost regard to its citizens and the Creator as well. On a daily bases in Ethiopia, a family is losing loved ones to the bloodthirsty regime. How much can Ethiopians continue to endure a horror of terror on their loved ones by the regime? And also, has Ethiopia reached a threshold stage of boiling points in which mammoth of civil unrests are on the horizon?

George Orwell, “Power Corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” The Tigray People Liberation Front (TPLF) was originated from Tigray. Tigray is bordered by Eritrea to the north, Sudan to the west, the Djibouti to the northeast, and the Ethiopia to south. The Tigray province has greatly suffered during the blood-thirsty Col.Mengistu Haile Mariam regime of Ethiopia from 1974-1991. According to history, “In 1975 the Tigray (Tigrayan) People’s Liberation Front began a protracted rebellion against the military government. This conflict aggravated a disastrous drought and famine between 1984 and 1985, which the government tried to ameliorate by forcibly relocating hundreds of thousands of peasants to well-watered regions in the south and west. An international outcry led to the suspension of this program, but by then it had led to the deaths of some 100,000 people, and hundreds of thousands more sought refuge from civil war and famine in The Sudan and Djibouti. Tigray forces liberated the region in 1989 and supported the overthrow of the Ethiopian national government in 1991. Their victory resulted in the replacement of an Amhara-dominated government with one led by Tigray leaders, a source of continuing conflict throughout the 1990s.”(1)

In 1989, the Tigrayan People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) merged with other ethnically based opposition movements to form the Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF). When the TPLF roamed into the capital of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to fill the vacuum power that the Col. Mengistu’s regime had left, the Ethiopians did not extended their cordial arm to welcome the minority Tigrayan liberators. The deceased Prime Minister Meles Zenawi was pressured to conduct national election if his regime were continuously to receive financial aid from Developed Countries. When the national election was held on May, 2005, the Ethiopians have spoken in staggering numbers of votes against the TPLF regime. Unfortunately, the regime was completely taken by surprise of the results’ votes that deceased-Prime Minister Meles Zenawi immediately retrieved to silent the oppositions by the barrel of guns.

The 2005 national election was clearly an indicator of how the Tigrayan liberators were not the representative institutions of the multi-fabrics of ethnicity of Ethiopia. Certainly, the Ethiopians, then and now, saw the Tigrayan liberators not as embodiment’s government or a savior but as an alien who has occupied their lands not with ballots of vote but with barrel of guns. Indeed, the TPLF regime for the beginning did not have slightly chance to assimilate into intertwined and heterogeneous fabrics of Ethiopia’s society because the belligerent liberators come from different culture and ethnicity region of Horn of Africa. The Tigrayan liberators would never win the hearts and minds of Ethiopians because they are perceived to be belligerent aliens with absolute power in the foreigner lands. Obviously, the Tigrayan people must come into realization of their ‘no win situations’ in Ethiopia. The alien liberators, even without absolute power, would always be unwelcome by all Ethiopians.

Watts Riot of 1965, “In the predominantly black Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles, racial tension reaches a breaking point after two white policemen scuffle with a black motorist suspected of drunken driving. A crowd of spectators gathered near the corner of Avalon Boulevard and 116th Street to watch the arrest and soon grew angry by what they believed to be yet another incident of racially motivated abuse by the police. A riot soon began, spurred on by residents of Watts who were embittered after years of economic and political isolation. The rioters eventually ranged over a 50-square-mile area of South Central Los Angeles, looting stores, torching buildings, and beating whites as snipers fired at police and firefighters. Finally, with the assistance of thousands of National Guardsmen, order was restored on August 16.”(2)

History is always repeating itself. In Ethiopia on daily bases, a micro-level of demonstrations across the country have been waged by the oppressed Ethiopians on the bloodthirsty TPLF regime. The micro-level of demonstrations on the streets of Addis Ababa or on remote villages are truly an indicator of unsuitable environments in which the citizens of Ethiopia are subjected to the daily of inequality and injustice by the regime. Sadly, the regime has used his ‘barrel of guns’ to crush and to silent the demonstrators across the country.

Malcom X, “Truth is on side of the oppressed.” The oppressed Ethiopian citizens are currently coping with abhorrent environments in which all their fundamental rights have been stripped away from their sacred constitutions by the bloodthirsty regime. Furthermore, the Ethiopian citizens are living in ‘state of fear’ that their loved ones could be randomly taken by the Agazi-Commando apparatus in the daylights or nights from anywhere. Also, the regime could label anyone with the terrorism’s blanket and could sentence or give a dead penalty to anyone. No one is immune from the horrors of regime even the small creatures of animal kingdom. However, in recent events of freedom-fighter British citizen Andargachew Tsige, who was extradited from Yemen while he was doing transient from International Airport of Sana, the world has finally seen the true-colors of the regime who have managed for several decades to silent and to butcher the Ethiopian citizens. Slowly but surely, the dazzling lights of truth is illuminating on the profound wounds and shatter-souls of Ethiopians who have endured horrors under the regime for several decades.

V for Vendetta, “People should not be afraid of their government, government should be afraid of their people.” Time is ticking for the oppressive regime in Ethiopia. Although for several decades, the oppressive regime has waged a horror not only on Ethiopians but also on Eritrea, and Somalia. Collectively, Ethiopians are standing up for their fundamental rights and liberty all over the country. The micro-level of demonstrations by the Ethiopians are certainly an indication of people are neither afraid or fear of their oppressive regime who has constantly used his military junta to butcher and to silence the civil-unrests throughout the country. Perhaps the sporadic civil unrests might be at micro-levels throughout the country but it is the precursor for the beneath surface of fabric society in which enormous volcanic civil unrests that it’s vigorously brewing at high velocity. God forbidden, if the enormous volcanic of civil unrests ruptured anytime in Ethiopia, the outcome is going to be catastrophic human-crisis not only in Ethiopia but also in the Horn of Africa. Since the cradle of humankind, no oppressive regime could continue to be oppressor… for infinitive. For example, the French Revolution, 1789 to 1799, was a huge civil unrests in France. Then, the people of France in 1789 have reached the threshold of boiling points that the people were neither afraid nor fear to demand for their liberty and unalienable rights from the oppressive government. The noble nations, such America and United Kingdom, must  vigorously attempt to rescue the Ethiopians and citizens of Horn of Africa from the oppressive TPLF regime who has brought endless of horrors on innocent lives and on the region of Horn of Africa. The Developed Countries must immediately cease all the financial aids going to the butcher regime of Ethiopia. The time has arrived upon Ethiopians that they are neither afraid or fear from the bloodthirsty regime anymore. The Ethiopians have finally awaken!

Politicians want war and who pays the price? Always the people. Not one senior party member in an country has ever marched a son or daughter to a war then why should ordinary citizens give their children. Its all done in the name of "national glory". I rather die building a bridge than fighting a war because a politician thought it would bring us "national glory".
