Eritrean Foreign Minister to visit Russia

Eritrean Foreign Minister Osman Saleh will visit Russia to discuss with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, a government spokesman said today.

The two sides are expected to follow up on talks of consolidating bilateral cooperation from their previous meeting last February.

The planned visit comes a week after Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a message of congratulation in connection with the 23rd Independence Day anniversary and expressing readiness to foster bilateral ties with Eritrea.

  6. confused individual! so just because Eritrea refused aid and don't want to be a puppet instead of applying flexible foreign policy they decided to punish Eritrean people, so now you telling me to Simerr to become a puppet and sell myself as the rest of Africa. No! get lost Eritrea will prevail! those who failed to see how Eritrea became and what it took to become, don't know but they are learning. but people like you will always cry crocodile tears, and switch side when the going get better. stay with your people!

  7. Does Eritrea refused aid, Mr Guest, they are cheating you by saying we refused to accept aid and that is why the world is against us. The case is the other way, poor diplomacy, interference in other countries affairs, poor human rights record and the like. Do not be folished.

  9. I saw recently a rich Arab distribute clothes to children what do you call it self reliance higdef style? First of all higdef made Eritrea one of the worst country in the planet and you think you are better than the rest of Africa ,,, number one in Africa as your sick president said . Which African country close university and open prisons which African country loses 3000 of her youth in month? Which African country arrest s people only because they want to live their life freely? Which African country exist without constitution, budget, law ? You said foreign policy. Which one the only country DIA travel is Sudan and Qatar Do you need policy for two countries ,What do you call it to arrest Pilot Dejen for 15 years without being guilty in front of court,,,,justice higdef style

  10. The world community including Russia and China sanctioned the terrorist government of Eritrea for highwayman mentality. The sanction doesn't affect the people because with or without sanction higdef will not do anything to improve their life.More many from bisha means more new prisons and more money in Isayas and Kisha private accounts so the sanction should be tightened more to reach each of higdef mafia. Yes for more sanction

  13. hi sami, a number of car rentals are available in asmara and almost all have the same price range; a mid-sized saden will rent from 600 to 1k depending the number of days you want it for and. gas price has not changed much and its around 40 nakfa, diesel is cheeper in Eritrea. If you are comfortable the bus system is way way cheaper and is mostly efficient. Asmara-Massaua is one dollar/person one way; if you drive a rental car you are looking at fifty dollars. so do the math and dont limit yourself to freely move around the country; you will see and truly know the people and the great Nation. take care bon voyage!

  18. Osman Saleh is just a postman, without any FM power. Have you ever seen Osman Saleh giving interview as many normal FM around the globe does? No only the mad dog gives interview in Eritrea and he can say whatever he want, in the last 23 years he have insulted every part of our society without any consequence. Regarding Russia they didn't event abstained when the mad dog was sanctioned , they were actively supporting it. Why? Because they have more interest in the rest of East Africa than our dictator. So don't expect anything will come out of this flirt it is just a wast of time. We need leaders who understand theninernational politics of 2014, not a mad dog who still is in the 70:s way of thinking.

  26. Yes indeed, Eritrea refused aid because GOE believes self-reliance is the only solution for Eritrea economic progress. The world is against Eritrea because Eritrea is the first nation in this planet to kick the NGO from the face of Eritrea. If you grew in western's welfare system aid for you is a life line. Please, stop being free loader for life.

  29. You may think i am foolish and thats fine and Eritrea made it clear as a new nation and with no meaningful infrustructure and economic base we will need support but with no condition attached and if is money we we spend it where we see fit and in terms of food aid we will not be forced to accepr your terms if you want to help do so if not get lost. Erutrean government is well aware that any money we get we will pay some outragious interest up to 13%,therefore, why is it wring for the govrment to say we will spend it in our own way? eg Phillipine the darling of worldbank money flooded the country and they wer I love Eritrea be because Eritrea makes us one wherever we are. I love Eritrea because I belong, I love Eritrea because i am proud. The blood of our martyrs is not in vain and am proud that blood rushes through my veins. now go and hung yoursel! e told as a precondition they have to privetise government own institutions...goernment took the money and did nothing with it yet they sold the very institutions rhat generate income to the government and without

  30. Moreover, most Rentals will provide you with a Driver, which you should accept as driving in Eritrea can be rough and deadly if you are from the West.
But as Forto Sawa said, car renting is expensivie in Asmera for obvious reasons.
FYI,the MVA related injuries and deaths per capita are the highest in Eritrea.

  31. Opps I apologise I pasted previously written comment in the midlle hence the above comment does no make much sense.

The point i am trying to make is aid and money that flood nations just because they are told and the cnform is not always beneficiale and countries such as Phillipines foun it hard to mange he debt with sagnant economy and keep on paying the debt. this is one example out of many all of thw world specially Africa. I don't wish that on my country. today the world is changing there are alternative ways of collaboration on investment and Eritrea is persuing that and doing fine and building the base tosustainable growth.

  33. Your opinion is totally hocus-pocus. You cannot evaluate FM Osman Saleh's performance by how many interview he has done so far. Osman Saleh as a gallant EPLF fighter and leader he believes more work than rhetoric interviews like your master weyane FM. PIA's interviews are crystal clear even Ethiopians love it because he tells them the truth in their face. You are totally liar about Russia regarding the sanction. Russia abstained and later confront the Eritrea/Somalia watch groups all the fabricated allegations against Eritrea. If you think Amanuel Iyasu, Twelde Gebeselasie, Weldeyesus Amar, Huruy Tela Bairu,Berket Habteselasie and Hissien Kalifa are better leaders, you are suffering from paranoid delusions. These are sell-outs who have dream to see Eritrea unified with Ethiopia.

  34. Why HGDEF want diplomacy with Russia on this time? Diplomacy is not bad way but if it is for the interest of the country and people. If we remember our 30 years liberation straggle Ethiopian regime (DERG) had close tie with Russians our people and our freedom fighters are murdered by Russian Antonov's, Russian advisers, Russian artilleries, Russian pilots, There for if HGDEF forgive them their evil work and want diplomacy. why don't want to forgive to the current Ethiopian regime and go to negotiation. HGDEF if they love Eritrean people and works for their interest. Eritrea does need to travel thousands miles to make friends we have people to our next door like Djibouti, Ethiopia, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Lebam Hezbi, Diablos Merihner.

  35. The camel is marching while the dogs are barking. Go head Eritrea and people.

"Russia’s Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov has warned against the destabilizing effect of color revolutions, calling them a new disaster".

"Under the pretext of democratic transition, internal socioeconomic and political problems of some nations are being exploited to replace unwanted governments with externally controlled regimes,” said Antonov.

"We are opposed to any division nations into ‘primary’ and ‘secondary’ ones, leaders and supporters. We are all equal. We have equal rights and obligations. At the same time every nation is unique in terms of its history, cultural heritage and traditions,” said Antonov".
The day of the criminals capitalists and Zionists is coming to an end.
    Eritrea and people will prevail!

  36. Russians and Ethiopians or Weyane are two different enemies. However, Weyanes are the worst of worst enemies. We helped them to liberate their people and forgot our cooperation. They declare war on us, killed innocent civilians, looted properties and more worse atrocities. Still occupying our land. So, how can you compare them with Russia? Russia apologized for their past mistakes but these evil Weyane still continue to harm our people.

    ReplyDelete
  37. what proof do u have we are interfering in other countries affairs? Pls, talk what u know and seen rather, repeating what our enemies said and had failed to prove it. Yes, we say NO to aids and Yes to mutual cooperation. Eritrea and Eritreans are not foe sale as we see happening in our neighbors. Human Right is worse in those who point their fingers to Eritrea. Try to read their past history as well see it practically in their day to day life.

    ReplyDelete
  38. To Asmayt and your lackeys
Yes for sure Eritrea refused aid because GOE realized aid for poor countries has been at best ineffective and at worst harmful. As President JFK said, "if we give one we expect four." Hence, there is no a free aid. All aids are attached to certain preconditiones that benefited the special interest groups. These special interest groups in order to defend their power, profits and privileges they financed and support religious and communal and conflicts, In order to succeed their greed they hire the self-described NGOs. NGOs arrival portends rising local prices and a culture shock. NGOs foster a new type of cultural and economic colonialism. Many of them live in lavish houses, or five star hotels. They earn a two figure multiple of the local average wage. As NGOs claim to be non-profit -yet many of them posses sizable equity portfolios and abuse their position to increase the market share of their firm at the expense of the poor people. They are busybodies, preachers, critics, and professional altruists. They are parasite who feed off natural and manmade disaster, mismanagement, conflict and strife. Always self-appointed, they answer to no constituency. They are involved in crime and corruption. NGOs usually in the guise of think tank and lobby groups are sometimes ideologically biased, or religiously committed and often at the service of special interest groups. NGOs such as the International Crises Group have openly interfered in many countries political affairs for their own ulterior motives. For example, in Eritrea, Ukraine, and Nigeria ext. The encroachment on state sovereignty of international law enshrined in numerous treaties and conventions allows NGOs to get involved in hitherto strictly domestic affairs like civil rights, the composition of the media, the penal and civil codes, environmental policies, or the allocation of economic resources and natural endowments, such as land and water. No field of government activity is now exempt of the greedy NGOs. They serve as self-appointed, judges, jurors, and executioner rolled into one.
Asmayit, see for example, when GOE kicked NGOs ass out of Eritrea, they fabricated false allegations such as, Eritrea plane delivered weapons to Somalia Al-Shabab, Eritrea sent 2000 troops to fight alongside Somalia Islamic Court, Eritrea gave a military base to Iran in Red Sea and Eritrea tried to bomb the AU building in Addis Abeba. Because NGOs are judges and jurors, they posed two unjust sanctions against my beloved Eritrea. In addition, NGOs serve as a long arms for special interest group-gathering intelligence, burnishing their image, and promoting their interests. These days, many host countries accuse NGOs of unwittingly or knowingly serving as hotbeds of espionage. Our GOE believe "Anafafira Qoqah Zeyfelit si Ayhadanayin..literally if don't know how Guinea Fowel fly, you are not a legit hunter." That's why the GOE invest tremendously in self-reliance and the outcome is beyond anybody belief.
Asmayit for more information specially about the so-called aid Africa check the video or the books of very respected Dr. Dambisa Moyo.
