Fighting for the Eritrean Identity in the Diaspora

Seminar: The specific problems of the Eritreans  in Germany

Selam to all Eritreans and those who are interested in Eritrea

The new founded Eritrean youth group "Eritrean-German youth group Nordrhein Westfalen" founded by Lidia, Mike, Martha and others are fighting together with Biniam Kiflai to keep their Eritrean culture and identity alive.

Biniam Kiflai a medcine student devotes most of his time trying to  improve the life of Eritrean migrant communities in Germany. He believes that our communities need to learn to address unpleasant issues such as identity problems of the Eritrean youth, loss of Tigrinya language skills, violence and anti-social behaviour of young Eritreans to prevent existential threats to family values, culture and tradition. Parents as well as their kids require education and individuals who are willing to take on leading role models to motivate and inspire others.

Due to considerable problems which Eritrean families are confronted with in Germany, a seminar is scheduled in Düsseldorf to directly address these problems in plain language.

The following problems will be discussed:
  • Problems of identity
  • Loss of bahli and Tigrinya language skills
  • Family problems
  • Drug problems and juvenile delinquency
  • Beware of social constraints and many more.....
Problem: analysis, prevention, coping

Speaker: Biniam Kiflai ( Hannover Germany)

Location: Düsseldorf (Germany)

Freizeiteinrichtung Icklack

  2. We the people of Southern Afar want independence from the Tigrigna led Eritrea. Our life has been destroyed by the highlanders. We want referendum to secede and join our mother Ethiopia. We have historically been Ethiopian. We want to unite with our brothers on the other side of the border. FREEDOM FOR SOUTHERN RED SEA!!!! VIVA AFAR..VIVA ETHIOPIA

  3. Why do you lie? Do you know where they live?
Yes the Ethiopia regime is killing you, Afar Ethiopians if you want to get rid of woyane go and fight with them. You don't have mandated to comment about Eritrea. Eritrea is the only independent country in Africa. Eritrea is Eritrea.
The young Eritrean generation born in the diaspora will maintain their Eritrean identity.
    God Bless You All!

  4. Some Ethiopians are funny :-), No self-respecting Eritrean Afar would ever say mother Ethiopia, neither would he misspell his name Ahmed Hussein. Good try though !

Back to the subjet at hand, the initiative is commendable and I applaude the youth for taking this important step and wish them great success.

  5. Good catch Defiant.

Considering eight Afar civilians were recently killed by the Ethiopian regime, you'd think he'd disassociate himself from saying he's proud of Ethiopia while bashing Eritrea. But then again, these Ethiopian trolls who pretend to be Eritrean aren't the sharpest tools in the shed.

  8. But, unfortunately and sadly some of our youngsters names are not maintaining our culture and tradition. Lidia, Veronica, Suzie are just a few examples of cultural adulteration. This is NOT the fault of the kids that are being baptized by such foreign names, but the FAULT of their parents and guardians who should be ashamed of their carelessness!

  12. Facts
I guess you missed the part that saying Eritrean culture.

    ReplyDelete
  13. That is exactly what Facts is saying.

There are more languages in Eritrea than Tigrinya. Off course this group is free to promote only the Tigrinya language, however not speaking Tigrinya does not necessarily mean that you are lossing your Eritrean identity, because you might for example speak Saho or Tigre.

For me it is clearly stated in the first paragraph that they are talking to keep their Eritrean Culture (the culture of 9 "BIHER" and the Identity of 9 "BIHER").

  15. "Loss of bahli and Tigrinya language skills"?
How about the rest of Eritrean language? Eritrea is not only about Tgrigna language. Correct it please.
