According to Hon. Ogwal who delivered a message from Uganda on Dr. Speciosa Wandira-Kazibwe candidature, President Afwerki said, “support to Eastern Africa’s candidate is an obligation, a commitment to moving Africa forward”.

According to a statement issued by the Head of Communications for Uganda’s AU Chairperson bid, Ms Sarah Kagingo, Ogwal also met the Eritrean Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Osman Saleh at a countryside office outside Asmara.

If successful, she would replace outgoing chairperson Dlamini Zuma in the July 2016 elections to be held in Kigali, Rwanda.
