The Danish Fact-Finding Mission has it Right: no Human Rights Violations in Eritrea

Danish Fact-Finding mission on human rights debunks Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International's sensational claims against Eritrea

The Danish Fact-Finding Mission has it Right on there being no Human Rights Violations in Eritrea

By Bereket Kidane,

The Danish Fact-Finding Mission has it Right on there being no Human Rights Violations in Eritrea. Eritrea has had the unfortunate reality of being the only African nation whose nation building efforts and sovereignty are continuously challenged by the morally-bankrupt UN bodies, NGOs and Ethiopia’s Western allies at the UNSC.

No other country has been the target of such non-stop, well-funded, and highly organized propaganda campaign designed to empty it of its young population.

The Danish Government’s fact-finding mission aimed at finding out the real human rights situation in Eritrea and the conclusions it reached regarding there being no systematic human rights violations in Eritrea is significant because it has notified the world of the massive propaganda campaign aimed at Eritrea and its people.

Eritreans know there are no human rights violations in Eritrea. Eritreans know each other very well and they know full-well why their cousins left Eritrea. They left Eritrea in search of greener pastures in the West, not because of human rights violations.

The TPLF-led government of Ethiopia has worked its Western allies overtime to blacken Eritrea’s image and create a false, non-existent narrative regarding Eritrea’s human rights. The TPLF and people of Tigray have been the prime beneficiaries of Eritrea’s falsely tarnished image on human rights. TPLF officials have used the issue to profit personally by enticing young Eritreans to cross the border into Ethiopia with the promise of guaranteed asylum visas to the West.  They have turned it into a lucrative business for themselves by concentrating those Eritreans in refugee camps and collecting tens of millions of dollars in their name. Furthermore, it is a well-known fact that the majority of those who exit Ethiopia from the refugee camps in Tigray are Tigrayans pretending to be Eritreans.  Eritreans languish at refugee camps for years until they lose hope of ever leaving and decide to make the dangerous trek by crossing the Sahara while Tigrayans with connections to TPLF officials arrive in Western capitals claiming to be Eritreans and taking advantage of the visa set-asides meant for Eritrean refugees in Ethiopia.

At last, may be the world will catch-on to Ethiopia’s and its allies’ propaganda machine that has been running full throttle to victimize Eritrea.  May be it has started with the Danish report.  The cat is out of the bag.

  4. Few basic questions:
-Did they ask the main Eri people in Asmera, keren,Tesenei,Barentu?
-Did they ask the Sawa Recruits and the Warsay People?
-Did they interview the prisoners and their loved ones/families?
Per their own admission and report, they did NOT,hence, this makes it more than biased and false report.
The whole reason of NOT allowing the SEMG and the Human Rights Inquiry Group is coz these groups will ask to interview all the above the DIS did not bother to ask.

  6. It's fine finally they come to the point of what was orchestrated/invented..obvious..that europeans come to that conclusion when become of the: "the dog chasing its tail type" un-end story, wanting to flare Eritrea's youth, they get 10 time more africans filling their migration camps pretending to be Eritreans..All's well that ends well.

  7. So why were the Danes allowed to enter Eritrea while everyone else was denied, i.e, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, Miss Shilla, Commission of Inquiries, Red cross and other advocates?
Please don't copy EriTV and tell me because they are enemies or because of their politics blah, blah...I am looking for genuine answer.
What criteria are being used to allow entry to certain groups and deny others?

  10. All opinions are kinda biased. So is your last argument.
No country is flawless, something can always go wrong.
How can the outside world (from Eritrea) find out the truth or do they perhaps not wanna know the truth?
If things are going wrong it's nice to know why and have some more backround info behind it.

  11. What truth? The Dinish Report? The Dinish neo-Nazt party will stop at nothing to prevent Negro refugees from coming in.

  12. End? Just because a Dinish neo-Nazi party fabricated a false report? Fool.

  13. Berhane, very true and thanks for reminding us.
Their sacrifice is the reason we have lifted our heads up and call ourselves proud Eritreans all over the planet. We may go to teach in Eritrea, we may contribute the minimum 2% of our net income, we may defend our beloved country online, we may buy Eritrean bonds, we may win Olympic medal, Cycling Champion, we may think we love Eritrea more than any other Eritrean, but the fact remains all we have done is a drop in the bucket in comparison to our Martyrs.
Our Tegadelties are the reason we now see the sky as the limit.
    Eternal Glory to our Martyrs.

  16. Don't forget that Danish Gov. is one on top 4 weyane's donor country..so is like crashing/spitting on your mothers dish..While for us they come to a reasonable point of truth..
Next move might be they strangulate you as they did in Uganda, asking you to abide by international law to get the AID you used to have from them..

  19. It is encouraging to see the Danish Report going beyond the myths and misrepresentations about Eritrea that have been so rampant. Sharing accurate information and keeping dialogue open is essential to continue building on the respectful relationships that many countries are forging with Eritrea. It is helpful for every person who cares about Eritrea and the Eritrean people to share on social media accurate and positive information about the country and people we love. The battle for Independence that was fought with weapons will be supported and enhanced by the sharing of accurate information and the encouraging of dialogue that is respectful of differences of opinions. In short, we need civil discourse and accurate information. I am hopeful that the Danish Report will cause the members of the UN to reconsider and revoke the sanctions that are both of harm to Eritreans and do not serve the cause of peace in the region.

  24. Mahaffy, You like a report that absolves the totalitarian/criminal regime? What a shame. A regime that has eradicated a generation of leaders, journalists, religious leaders, young students etc. etc. will be brought to justice in a court of law. Mark my words.

  25. Your futile attempt to distort the truth and blaim the decent and to unmake the unequalled stature of Shaebia/GoE is doomed.
You have no words to mark but only shame and agony to live with.

  28. Badela, now it's time of dump-trucks in Eritrea, badela is no more in use, exactly like you, useless.

Admit it, at the present the Danish report is only a drop of water but it will turn soon into a Sunami and wash you and your filthy Weyane to a deep abyss.
