Lots of Cheers and Patriotism during Eritrea's Independence Week

Asmara decorated with colorful lights in celebration of Eritrean Independence Day

Lots of Cheers and Patriotism during Eritrea's Independence Week

By Bereket Kidane

I have been following the Independence Week festivities on Eri-TV this week. Lots of cheers and patriotism were on display on the streets of Asmara and various municipalities across the country with street performances, parades, concerts and traditional ceremonies along with fireworks and lots of spirit. Tent parties were once again fixtures of neighborhood celebrations. Cars, buildings and lampposts were decorated with Eritrean flags. The Carnival seems to be getting longer and more elaborate every year. What's nice to observe is that school children make up the backbone of the street performances and parades. Many cities across the globe are celebrating Eritrea's birthday this weekend so Happy Independence Day to all.

  16. Independence day celebrated the same through Eritrea and diaspora and this is the day the whole Eritreans celebrated and rejoicing. Many cultural programs are well organized and Eritreans love to watch them and participate in them.Families and friends meet and have coffee time are go out to have fun and enjoyment that day.ERITV entertain their viewers with old and new patriotic movies and classics. You seems to me you are one of those disgruntled Pent Costal member.
