Lufthansa Airlines Request to Start Flights Back to Asmara

Lufthansa Airlines has sent an application to the Eritrean government requesting to commence flights to Asmara, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

According to the source, the German Airliner's suspension of flights to Asmara wasn't really about currency issues, but rather the pressures it had from the United States and European Union to not carry human remains for burial in Eritrea, and not to deliver diplomatic packages to Eritrean embassies.

Along with the application, the source says Lufthansa attached a letter it had received from UN Sanction Committee on Eritrea.

  1. It appears the United States government is doing everything it can to make life difficult for Eritreans. It has pressured the EU to suspend Eritrean Airlines from flying to Europe (it has nothing to do with safety concerns!). It has pressured Boeing and Airbus not to purchase or lease any planes to Eritrea. It has pressured Lufthansa not to carry diplomatic mail of Eritrean politicians.

    This is beyond obsession.

  2. Agreed,

Its really about the message Eritrea is sending the U.S.

"we just dont take no shit"

Everybody knows what the real problem is. Europa,U.S,China & Russia are all afraid of the fact that Eritrea will influence other African countries to stand up for themselves. Hugo Chavez did it, Thomas Sankara did it, Nkrumah tried to do it, Lumumba did it...What do they all have in common? D.E.A.D by force!! (they tried to assasinate Chavez one million times)

  3. The bottom line is Eritrean Airlines was mismanaged by the government clowns. If it was left to be run by skillful individuals like Cap. Assress Araia without involvement of Kisha , Dafla and Tesfom (aka Pr. Issayas) it would have survived.

  4. Mikele,

We all know that Zionist controls this world. They control financial institutions, weapon industry, above all means of information or media. Unless all third world countries united and fight for their interest TOGETHER, there is no meaning to try. You start doing that first by cleaning your house, such as respecting human right, rule of law, freedom of movement and speech.

  6. 1) Change your name to something more appropriate.

    2) The Eritrean government made it public that the United States was prohibiting Boeing from leasing/purchasing planes to Eritrea via Shabait.com.

    3) Prohibiting Eritrean Airlines had little to do with Safety Concerns and everything to do with appeasing the United States. We're talking about a regime that told Lufthansa to stop delivering Eritrean letters/packages.

    4) Brazilian/Russian/Chinese aircraft's aren't as good as Airbus' or Boeing's, at least not yet.

3.None of your comment have room for checking/analyzing/considering and accepting other perspectives/news/analysis - meaning, you are not only just twisted - you are PROGRAMED to be twisted! meaning, you are already set to defame/negate/destroy - any thing good about Eritrea. Just like woyanie, just like the US and the EU, which are the topic at hand
    4. Meaning, you are already twisted, useless for Eritrea, useless in regards to talking about the truth. Meaning, you are useless and not qualified to talk about justice, rule of law, and all that jazz.
What is more, you are not in a position to talk and be credible any thing about Eritrea

Give me one issue of Hadas Eritrea where it has critisize or questiones the governments action?? Since we are talking about Eritrea airlines here, have they ever presented balanced view why Eritrean Airlines collapsed? Why Lufthansa ceased flying to Eritrea? Where is the cruise ship they bragged about? If a news media do not question such kind important questions and inform to its readers then that news media is a propaganda media. That is what we have today a propaganda machine of PFDJ.

Actually you're wrong once again. Due to the sanctions, Eritrea cannot import spare parts considered "dual use" in this case, airplane parts as well as new airplanes because the potential is there to utilize them for military purposes. See this is what I mean when I state that the opposition hasn't a clue what their actions entail. On one end they campaign for sanctions on Eritrea and then subsequently complain when we can't upkeep Eritrean airlines. You can't have it both ways especially if your actions contribute to the problems. Morons.

  42. Operating airlines is a cash burning business. You spend a huge amount of money per hr. to fly an aircraft like Boeing 767. In order to cover the total cost such as maintenance, fuel, ground service.....the the airlines should have to fly at 70% load factor. Eritrean airlines was doing great as a new starter, thanks to the nationalist Eritreans who had done a carefully study. For me it was so amazing to see the airlines was run professionally by professional people. Those people could have stayed in western country and earn 100 times than what they were earning in Eritrea, but in their mind, nation comes first than anything.
One of the things I admired them was the selection of flight crew. They selected crew from all 9 tribes and gave them adequate training. It was so pleasant to see such crew and it made everyone proud to fly Eritrean.
I also was remember the bold action of captain Assress when the Italian charter plane carrying Italian tourist to Kenya got bankrupted. Captain Assress took the Queen Bee and flow back the Italians to their country. I was so proud to see the positive publicity the Airlines got.
Since we have a government that is good for nothing and HASSAD, they started to interfere with almost independently run airways. Kisha, Dafla and the rest of clowns start to put their dirty hands in it. Imagine these people have no knowledge of managing aviation business. That

    ReplyDelete
  43. You people blaming others for our government's failure is very laughable.

You should know that trillions are accumulated in the tens, hundreds and thousands collected from each passenger.

You have the audacity to come here and tell us so many lies and negativity about our own country. No we will not surrender! If you were Eritrean, you would have known that ones country is to be loved and defended whether in good times or bad times.

You are wasting your time. Go away already!

P.S. Now that you have mentioned your national airlines (Ethiopian), you should know that it is Eritreans who built Ethiopian Airlines and who played important roles in the modernization of Ethiopia during the early reign of Haile Sillassie until the Derg took power.

So bottom line do not expect these goons to substantiate any news they post!! 95% of the time they are fabricating as they go.

Here is some roles and functions of most Eritrean websites:

ER-TV, EASTAFRO, Dehai.org, Tesfanews, capitaleritrea and the others are intended for the totally brain dead. They repeat HEGEDFs fabricated development videos 24/7 - they believe Isaias and his cohorts have made so much progress that Eritrea is now an industrialized county and most developed in sub Saharan Africa - they watch the rubbish news 24/7 -and they whip every time with emotions!!

Alenalki is for the semi literate HEGDEF cadres.

Awate and Assena (formerly Asmarino) are just Jihadi websites one for the arab wona- bees and the others for Jehovah witness!

Meskerem, net is a hybrid of all of the above...

  66. GOE self-reliance mantra is a big headache for the masters of hegemony.
The US expect obedience and compliance from Eritrea, but Eritrea showing confidence and pride in itself will rub the US the wrong way and attract a noticeable growl from it. When a truly confident Eritrea shows some real courage and can-do-attitude, backed by self-reliance action, then the growl turned into sanctions and sabotages. Unlike many other nations in Africa, Eritrea has shown that it has what it takes to stand on its own feet and be counted. Eritrea is proud and confident enough not to accept a hand outs and kick all the disgruntled NGO from Eritrea. Eritrea wants to remain master of her own destiny at all times. Eritrea vehemently protects its hard earn independence, for which it had fought and bled for 30 long and bitter years. Eritrea will not compromise or negotiate over its sovereignty and liberty under any circumstance. In the case of Lufthansa, "Mantile zelila zelila nab bayta).

    ReplyDelete
  67. Well moron is a stupid choice of word for the president to call. You must give him respect as being the president of our loved country. Yes I agree with you 100% on your response here. Only uneducated person will respond to ones opinion with personal attack. This is the biggest problem in Africa, that is keeping us in the third world status. When we are the one that have all the resources the first world nations are taking. ALL WAYS THAT IS MAKING ME SICK AND SAD IS! PEOPLE FOR GET THE MAIN ISSUES. DO WE REALLY HAVE A FREEDOM IN ERITREA? My answer is NO. Do we have the right to VOTE? NO. Do we have the a government that can be questioned? NO. Do Eritrean men have the right to develop the nations economy by being the work force and being the consumers?NO. (There in camps with guns waiting). Which has to be done because of those Agame looking up at our county after they sold Ethiopia to Wst.

So I say stop fighting with each other and look for solutions together. So what he have his own opinion or idea. Challenge what he is saying with facts. Which only can be found to the public through free media. Which most of Africa does not have. There should be no penalization or denationalization of a person for thinking outside the box. Every one should have an input to the country's growth. WE NEED A NEW thinking (LAW) that is going speed up the nation to the 21st century. Because what is being implemented now is really not working. I hate it when Eritrean are saying Eritrea is in good hands. And I agree but how long does that hand had to stay in power? Does no other Eritrean deserve to lead the country? There is no other we can vote for? Why is it that the government is above the LAW? What have our beloved Tegadelty have changed in the Eritrean peoples future or present, If they them selves replace the previous rulers (Mengistu, Haile)?

My Vision of Eritrea is :

-The LAW is above all (Which EVERYONE HAS TO obey even the government)
    -A Parliament

    -The right to VOTE
    -Free press
    -Freedom of speech
    -Freedom of travel
    -Freedom to Serve (NOT mehefas)
    -Freedom of Information

    -Freedom of Choice
-Freedom for ERITREANS TO INVEST (NOT FUCKING CHINESE...AND MORE)Sorry for my language

Shortly lets wake up to what is going on in the world. The first world nations are all buying out countries because they are running out of space and resources. Before that lets just move forward into developing our Eritrea. It may be as I imagine it or even better. We need to just start from the basics. So In conclusion to me writing here, Issayasmoron has his own views lets respect them as all of you other have. Having a question is a good thing. That's how a person will learn new thing good or bad. If you never ask you will NEVER know the real answer. Much MUCH love to all Eri people. LOVE YA

However, I don't thing plane selection is/was the main issue with Eritrean Airlines. The main issue is management. All the die hard nationalist Eritreans who were working with Ethiopian Airlines has left the country. I have talked to two individuals who were working with Eritrean airlines (one as dispatcher and one as flight engineering). Both of them are dissatisfied with governments involvement with Eritrean Airlines.

Queen Bee was our pride, but that was destroyed by the clowns.

  84. Great and honest comments - the majority of real Eritreans will agree with you - a couple of comments I would add though - it is not only lack of freedom that Eritreans are facing but dealing with the corrupt and Mafia -Hegdef is the main obstacle in my view.
Second with the experience and wealth accumulated Eritreans would have developed the country a lot better and sooner even with the bogus sanctions!! But HEGDEF is so scared of real Eritreans and is heavily dependent on TPDM and the certified human trafficking Rashida for it's protection. Shame on them!!
One can look at how the Jews are received with their experiences and wealth to improve the lives of their fellow Jews in Israel!!
Pure and simple - HEGDEF after 23 years has nothing show except fabricated lies and non-existent development videos!!

  87. Mussie - There are many brain dead Eritreans but some deserve certificates and you will be number one!!
Every time I flew to Asmara with Lufthansa - I get so sad and demoralized until I see my relatives and get relaxed -the entire flight staff was carrying flash lights!! and you are asking them to pay HEGDEF royalty? royalty for what? due to HEGDEFs savage handling and dealing Lufthansa chose to stop flying to Asmara
For your information due to HEGDEFs wisdom and mafia style of business dealings our brothers and sisters are being abused and paying a high price flying with the only available "Bedouin Airlines" operated by Yemen and Egypt!! that is a shame...
