Sept. 16, 2011 (ASMARA) – President Isaias Afwerki  is scheduled to visit the United States this month, according to Government officials.

Isaias will meet with Eritrean citizens and hold a seminar in New York City on Sunday, September 25th, 2011. The main objective of Isaias' visit is to attend the 66th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York City, where he is expected to give a speech on Friday, September 23rd.

The president will also discuss U.S.-Eritrean relations in a closed door meeting with U.S. officials and hold talks with other senior Eritrean community leaders.

Reports are indicating thousands of Eritreans throughout the United States and Canada are preparing to congregate in New York City to support their president and country.

It is to be noted, President Afwerki recently concluded a four-day visit to Equatorial Guinea at the invitation of President Teodoro Obiang Mbasogo, who is the current Chairman of the African Union (AU).

For more information, Eritreans are advised to contact the Embassy of Eritrea in Washington, DC  Tel: 202-319-1991  Fax: 202-319-1304.

  3. YEAH !! the world's hero and right man invited at the UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY shows that the loud voice of the truth and relevant effect of the message to the whole world. It is a wonderful occasion for those who need the horn Africa peace and the real policy of the Eritrea government in that region particularly and the world as general.

  4. HE is the best leader and must learn the Horn of Africa governments to the region and their people future. The Eritrean government and the people of Eritrea know about war and its effect so that they call the Horn of Africa specially, and the African people in general to work and believe in self reliance. We know African countries got their independence long time ago, just one full century but their people is suffering endless poverty, famine, political crisis. SELF RELIANCE is the best treatment of the African people. Being A servant to the western damage direct the people of Africa. so we should think and follow the Eritrean people and its governments policy as good example

  5. please !!! we should and must respect for this example leader of Eritrea especially residing in America and the whole world meet him personally at newyork .God bless him.

  6. I am Ethiopean I am keen to give a comment about the leader of Eritrea Isaias Afewerki. He is in the right position. the region should follow him to build the people of the East Africa and Africa in general. the Eritrean people got suffering a lot by colonization, poverty and so on. the region also suffering the same. Now the government of Eritrea and the people learn from the past effect and history of the African people. They don't need to repeat it, because bad is bad and worst is worst. so why the western look this hopeful government to his people and to the region in general as evil?????? the question is easy because of their geopolitical reason.

  7. I leave in England. When I observe the comment, I feel very happy to look our president to be participate at the UN general Asembly in Newyork. Really I can't control my happiness. we love our leader because he fought for his life to the people of Eritrea and he is not stop his generiousity to our country. the truth is the main headache of the western. we Eritrean know who is the good leader for Eritrean people not other countries. we need self relaiance and support the policy not only to the Eritrean people also to the region. the nighbouring countries follow this strategy as a model.

  8. I know the Ethiopean government choose to serve the western. This is very evil thing to the Horn of Africa . stop useless serving non sense helpless to the Ethiopean people. Ethiopea is a very lucky country has enough resource but lack of leadership going to hell. Good bless to the people. What time will the Ethiopean people see the good things of his leadership???????

  9. I think the world wouldn't know the secret of the Eritrean people residing abroad?? the people support the leader even the people fled by the temporary economical problem of the consuiquence of the western. This people know the effect of war rather than other people of the world. The people don't need to see the evil of his country. bECAUSE THIS PEOPLE BLEED FOR CENTURY.Enough blood, enough evil, enough poverty to this people.ENOUGH IS ENOUGH we love our leader we don't have internal problem. If the westerner keeps their evil hand to this dedicated people is worthful.May God bless Isaias Afewerki leader of the Eritrean people long life for him.

lets stand together behind our president to say no to those who are terrorizing inocent people in afghanistan and before that in Iraq and now bulling and imposing sunctions on us so pls lets face them
and tell them that may today no one will bring them to justice but theire offsprings will pay heavy price.I can't say as one of my fellow eritrean stated it on the top that we donot have internal proplems but in my opinion there are other priorities now.
My hope is sooner than latter our goverment would be able to solve
our diffrences, if we prospond it more we are giving a chance to the opportunistic evil mindede people like Meles zenawi and his Bosses.
