The Oracle of Asmara Turns 72

President Isaias Afewerki, who is the Oracle of Asmara, turns 72 today. He is the Oracle of Asmara because his sage comments and prescient warnings always come true. When he speaks, everyone listens. It’s almost as if he is the man with the crystal ball in the Horn of Africa. He is always proven true on topic after topic and country after country in the Horn.
His Western detractors will readily admit that President Isaias and Eritrea are right in much of what they say and warn against. It’s just that they hate his guts.
Much like the biblical prophet that he is named after (Prophet Isaiah) his predictions are always spot on. Eritreans affectionately call them “Tinbit Isaias.”
Today, the father of Eritrea turns 72 years young. Eritreans at home and abroad wish him the lifespan of Methuselah. Happy birthday Mr. President.
