Canada Receives New Eritrean Consul General

September 25, 2015 - Toronto, Ontario - Eritrea's new Consul General in Canada, Mr. Teumezghi Tesfa Tire, was officially welcomed by the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD) yesterday September 24, 2015 in Ottawa, Ontario. In the reception and subsequent meeting with the department, Consul General Tirfe expressed his desire to strengthen bi-lateral relations between Eritrea and Canada through continued dialogue and interaction.

Consul General Tirfe previously served as Counsellor at Eritrea's Embassy and Permanent Mission to the United Nations Environment Programme in Kenya, Charge de Affairs at Eritrea's Embassy in Australia and as the Director of Consular Affairs within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Asmara, Eritrea.
