  1. Excellent elaboration on solar energy exploitation and utilization.

In the small mining town that I work and live, the company leased a small size of its area to a state electric company so that the electric corporation could install its solar panels to generate power. surprisingly, the area in use is about the size of two or three stadiums at most, while the total power generated by the panels is above 60 Mega Watts. This is the amount that is believed to be generated by the two new diesel generators that are contracted to the Chinese company. Even though I don't know the details, I have overheard that the total investment made to the project was way below 100 million dollars...perhaps in the order of fifties. I guess our electric engineers and the like could explore on the matter and come up with proposals for large solar and wind energy projects. Just like the other Eritrean fellow who wrote a paper about the Red Sea's potential for hydroelectric.

  2. Thanks and these are the very Eritreans, the Warsai Generation, that shall be at the front line to lighten up Eritrea with sustainable and renewable energy for generations to come.

Geographically, Eritrea is positioned to benefit from Solar Energy for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. And these Warsai shall be there to make sure Eritrea get this God/Allah given blessing.

And these young Eritreans, the boys and girls of Sawa, are the first generation of solar energy experts that shall be dispatched all over Eritrea in the coming yours to power Eritrea with renewable energy.

By the way, some solar energy powered streets lights of the majestic Asmara are already in operation. Get ready to see all the street lights of the majestic Asmara to be powered by renewable and sustainable solar energy.

Stay on course, do not forget HADE KAI BELKA' ; KILTE ME'AS YIBEHAL KOINU!

  3. Great read. Solar is the way for us. We have plenty of it, it is economical, sustainable and above all environment friendly. Lets invest wisely and with long term in mind.

  4. Great say Hidrom, ya it's true that solar energy was introduced to my memory early in 1992 soon after the independence, and all our remote state clinics and public health centers all over Eritrea was getting 24 hours energy from a solar system electricity, it was amazing to see by that time on the coastal area in Badda, Tio, Gelealo, Irafaele, Sheib ect..continuous electricity based on solar system. It's something makes you proud. And as you mention now there is programme by the government to fed all the public institutions by the same energy, that's to say Eritrea soon will cover big part of Her need on this technology.

  5. FORGOT TO MENTION THE PROMISED LAND; WHERE IS IT? WHO PROMISED? SO PIA IS GOING TO BE THE PRESENT DAY "MOSES "TO TAKE YOU TO THE PROMISED LAND? YOU ARE A DUMB MR HIDROM...JUST COY AND PASTE WHAT YOU READ ELSEWHERE. BY THE WAY ARE YOU ON PIAS PAYROLL? IT LOOKS LIKE FROM UR POSTS.

  6. If I may add,
Solar is good but wind is better. Here is why solar only works when sun is available. But what happens when it is dark? Now we have a problem. You could say that we can store the excess solar energy. That is fine but now you are forced to spend more money to buy some kind of storage device costing you more money. ....
Wind on the other hand can generate energy day and night as long as wind is available...which based on my limited knowledge is abundant in Eritrea. Here is another reason. The amount energy that can be generated from a traditional wind turbine have doubled thanks to two Japanese university researchers. You can Google the info. But the I will try to explain to you how it works. The researchers found that by placing the wind turbine blades in a RING they were able to increase the energy output by 30 percent, that is the minimum....check it out and let me know.
