Two Ethiopian Mi 35 Attack Helicopter Pilots Disappear

Two Ethiopian Air Force pilots are reported missing yesterday morning with two of their MI-35 helicopters, according to the Ethiopian Satellite Television.

The Amsterdam-based network identified the deserting pilots as Captain Samuel Ghidey and Lieutenant Yililign Mekonen.

It is not clear which county the pilots may have defected to, although it's more than likely to be Eritrea since it's the only country bordering Ethiopia that protects Ethiopian asylum seekers.

If confirmed to have deserted to Eritrea, this would make them the 11th Ethiopian Air Force pilots to have defected to the Red Sea State in 2014.

  6. Great to give us an update on whether they fled to Eritrea or not. By the way could you in the meantime also give us an update on the Eritrean Air Force pilots that fled to Saudi Arabia. We've seen numerous cases of that, but surprisingly very little reporting on it here. Just google Rahwa Gebrekristos, Leul Gebreab and Dejen Ande Hishel to name a few. All of these were working as Eritrean Air Force pilots and all of these have now defected (along with many others). The case of Rahwa was probably the most painful as she was sent to Saudi to retrieve the plane that two other pilots used to defect, and when she arrived she decided to defect too. Can madote give us an update on that too.

Why did you have too many pilots?
... So you may give them to Shaebia?
Woyane selling 43,000 young Ethiopian girls to Saudi Arabia?
... I suppose you have too many girls in Ethiopia?
Were you ever used in the study of woyane's IQ level?
You are either funny or a Low IQ woyane member.

  11. You lost 11 pilots in 2014 only. So far Ethiopia lost 11 pilots and 11 planes, for crying out load. Please, do something to help your country before it is too late. Unless you do something about it your country will be the next Yugoslavia, a balkanized state. The again, Ethiopia is already balkanized, thanks to your Article 39 of Weyane,

  14. Not a single word on EriTV. If 11 pilots have defected to Eritrea than the state run media of Eritrea would have surely mentioned it (including footage of the aircraft and pilots). Instead all we hear is silence. As a matter of fact, the only pilots that have been in the media giving interviews were Eritrean pilots. Dejen has been the most widely mentioned pilot that defected from Eritrea recently, but he is by no means the only one. Perhaps this site can give insight into his defection.

  21. The last two MI35 went to eritrea. No Su35 is in use in the world apart from Russian airforce. Let alone su35 even mig31 or Ka50 blakshark is not used by any other army. During the agame 3rd offensive Ka50 was seen in Ethiopia but operated by Russians and went back to Russia after the war.

  22. You just do not give power to poor and destitute people like these agames.
History tells us that all those under preveleged ruthless leaders like Hitler ,megistu, napoleon .etc...As soon as they grabbed power they went on in to vendetta, and began to attack people they look up.on.
so it's no surprise that these poor and. underprivileged and less than humans are capable of doing anything.

  23. I understand that you don't want to talk about Pilots Dejen, Leul Gebreab, Rahwa Gebrekristos and the many, many others who fled the terror regime in Eritrea. How many Eritrean defectors are hosted by the Ethiopians and the UNHCR near the border?
Do you remember when Ali Abdu defected this website initially denied that he defected and ridiculed assenna and others who reported on the defection as liars:

    https://web[DOT]archive.org/web/20130313234402/http://www.madote.com/2012/11/ali-abdu-arrives-in-eritrea-ends.html

Well it turned out that the only one who was ridiculed was this site and Ali Abdu is in Australia now. I guess it's not relevant if Eritrean pilots defect to Saudi Arabia, since it exemplifies the situation in the country. You say it's not relevant, but you mean it's not convenient.

  24. According to the latest report coming from ESAT, a total of three
including 2 pilots and a technician have gone missing. The Woyane
Airforce is forced to abandon the search. But, what is most interesting
is that the names of the high ranking individuals is unmistakably
Tirgrayan. That must be a triple whammy for Woyanes.

  31. Ohhhh...please read the report of Human Rights Council on Eritrea. If the situation in Eritrea continues like this the country will be registered in Giness book of records as a nation without young generation. I don't think you know your size. Sad.
