The bodies of 50 Ethiopian and Somali Refugees found along Yemen shores

By AP,

SANAA, Yemen (AP) — A Yemeni security official and witnesses say the bodies of dozens of illegal immigrants, mostly from Somalia and Ethiopia, have been found on western beaches after their boat capsized in the Red Sea.

Witnesses said Monday that about 50 bodies were found starting Friday and buried near the town of Zoubab.

Mohammed Yahia, who witnessed the burial, says that residents brought a bulldozer and buried them in a mass grave.

The official, who could not be named in accordance with Yemeni practice, says the immigrants' boat capsized. A second boat loaded with 45 migrants was seized and those aboard were arrested.

The immigrants were headed for Saudi Arabia.

  1. I am sure all woyanes and their puppets will jump to comment and cry more louder about none-issue subject. Pilot, Constitution, ...and so on. This is their old and proven tactics to disrupt our discussions.

  10. Try to understand, we are talking about the ugly commentators who skip the main issue to spit dirt on Eritrea. It has nothing to do with the dead Ethiopians sympathy ma sympathy. Are Ethiopians having sympathy to Eritreans who lost their kidneys in Sinai? Have Ethiopians any sympathy for those who been hit on the head like animals in tigray? Have Ethiopians sympathy to our people suffering because of woyane's lawlessness? NO ! Have you ever heared any Ethiopian opposing woyane actions towards our border/Badme or supporting Eritrean claim? NO So why are you advocating for Ethiopians in general? It is true that they also dying like all other people of the zone because of woyane crimes but no Ethiopian stand for the truth that Eritrea is suffering decades,

  11. Eighty thousand Ethiopians risk their lives every year trying to get to Saudi Arabia and the promise of a better life. They are smuggled in boats across the Red Sea to Yemen and then must trek 500km (310 miles) to reach the Saudi border.

But it is a journey fraught with danger where thousands are tortured and sexually exploited by criminal gangs, as Yalda Hakim reports for BBC Newsnight.
