Eritrea: The March Is On

By Hillal,

The wise and farsighted Eritrean leadership have declared that 2015 will be the year for our leap forward in our national building development drive.

Outplayed, outsmarted and outmaneuvered , "The axis of evil", are left with no other option but to use the defunct UNSC to impose the illegal, unjust and immoral sanction resolutions based on fabricated and bogus charges based on lies and deceit to derail our development drive.

Eritrea is undergoing a Renaissance of its own. Political, economic, social, cultural and security transformations are sweeping the Eritrean landscape from coast to coast and from sea to shining sea.

The improvement in the quality of life registered in all Eritrean communities without exception is the pride and glory of the Eritrean nation. Building the Eritrea of our dreams and worthy of our martyrs sacrifices and in Shaebia's image is a work in progress and never ending noble task.

Democracy is a process and not an end in itself. For democracy to flourish certain prerequisites have to be meet and be in place. One of the most primary essentials is the creation of a large vibrant middle class. The W/Y Marshal Plan is designed to solve this and other bottlenecks.

First, a competent and high caliber leadership that is capable of leading and has the ability of listening to the heart beats of the Eritrean masses is a must. The Eritrean leadership possesses these qualities and more.

The leadership is the historical product of the protracted armed struggle. It lives with and among the masses - the masses have a clear understanding of who is who in the leadership and his/her dedication, potential, experience, integrity and sacrifice to the national cause.

Without a progressive leadership, vibrant middle class, a reasonable degree of economic development and a tolerant culture, a revolution is certain to fail. The so called Arab Spring, Flower, Colour, Facebook and Twitter are perfect examples of the failed pseudo-revolutions.

The bold Eritrean nation building experiment gives priority to the disadvantaged areas and communities first - a symmetrical development drive leaving no one behind. With self-reliance as its guiding principle, mutual partnership as its preferred economic practice, the economy is self sustaining and sufficient and doesn't rely totally on aids and handouts.

Construction of giant white elephant projects and prestige buildings and structures are not part of the peoples first based national development drive.

This is in direct contrast to Ethiopia's addiction to economic aids, loans and grants of which 87% of the national budget is foreign aid subsidized and where white elephant projects and prestige structures and buildings are considered as a measure of national development success. When Ethnic Apartheid and Article 39 are brought into the mix , the sustainability of the Ethiopian political nation becomes doubtful and even impossible.

After two decades of nation building experiments in the HOA region, we have a united, progressive, vibrant, assertive, self reliant nation of Eritrea and an Ethiopia which is Balkanized into Ethnic Enclaves and Bantu Lands and a people divided and living in fear, uncertainty, doubt and hopelessness.

Now, we find ourselves on the eve of the economic boom in Eritrea and the end of the reign of terror in Ethiopia. Aside from the economic boom in Eritrea, the restructuring, reorganizing and rectifying processes are ongoing processes in all sectors of the development drive and institutions -be it political, administrative, economic, social, cultural, security..etc...etc.

Whether we like it or not change is coming. The Eritrean revolutionary train is always moving. Those with wisdom, experience, courage, gusto and guts are jumping or are already on the band wagon and are on the drivers seat having the time of their lives and making history on a daily basis. Without to much hoopla and fanfare changes are being implemented keeping the best interest, safety and security of the Eritrean nation and people at heart.

What will happen in Ethiopia is anybody's guess. Ethnic politics which was designed to keep the Tribal Junta in power is institutionalized and is part of the Ethiopian state craft. Correcting the past mistakes and reconciling the population after the heinous crimes committed by the Genocidal regime seems easier said than done.

  2. I like the article Hillal, but i have a point to add, for my point I wouldn't compare as Eritrean to our neighbours ehtiopia, in a sense that i don't think they are our level, it deprive us a value. So i would see farther a comparison factor

  3. buahahahahahha very funny. Compare Eritrea to the US then.

  4. us exist since Cristoforo Colombo's era 1942, just 460 years, like australians or canadians they are of the same class. You better say indians, Assyrian and Babylonian, Egyptians ect..you know what i mean?

  5. You are unrealistic. We can't even get one I mean one single airline going and Ethiopia just became Africa's largest, baddest and most profitable airline. That is just one category and one industry.

HGDEF continues to feed you lies and Jeharaas. I bet you agame like your president and you don't want the people of Eritrea prosper.

    ReplyDelete
  6. HGDEF said akayidana akayida Gobie eyou. If we are going to move like a turtle we sure are in pace to get there in 500 years.

Like your president you might think I am from the moon .

  7. Dud :
I wish our dictator would make peace with our neighbors. If we had peace with Ethiopia we wouldn't be struggling with airlines. Can you imagine flying from DC to Addis to Asmara. Our people would benefit
So much but unfortunately we have a government that doesn't work on behalf of the people.

  8. I don 't understand it. As a result of booming ecomony has the price of good gone down? Can you give us a list? Has unemployemrnt in the country gone done? Can you give us statistics?

A country without a budget and accountability for you to write such garbage article is down low.

If the economy was booming the price of water, barrel, wouldn't be $35 Nakfa...that is one example.

  9. ehtiopia is also the 3rd coffee producer in the world, the richest man in africa is ethiopian, yet the country is N°1 Aid recipient in Africa..Saying this i don't want to complain about hunger in ethiopia, (god save ethiopia and ethiopians) nobody want their bad fate. I feel sorry for it, is just to say the ruling narrow minded elite over there must think in general to All ethiopians and not companies or individuals, after all foreign companies.

    ReplyDelete
  10. You are right when you talk about the barrel be $35, thas' s what the west teach's economy standard, but what about when you compare education, health, food are guaranteed like in Eritrea? not to mention the MDG 2015 that 8/7 achieved? How this economically is counted, does the un Aid gifted Eritrea? or some donor? I'm sure No.

  11. ethiopia = welfare caseJune 18, 2014 at 9:34 AM

Ethiopia is a welfare case. It lives off foreign aid. if the foreign aid spigot were to be turned off tomorrow, Ethiopia as a country could not exist.

what you wish and what is going on is different. wake up from your dream and face the real world. nothing you can change by day dream

    ReplyDelete
  16. I completely understand your point. The Ethiopians can't undue 300yrs of poverty and mismanagement in 25yrs. On thing is for sure, since weyane took over the country, Ethiopia has made many huge strides. In my opinion the country is on the right direction. It's amazing the number of Ethiopians that are going back to Ethiopia (from the west) to open business and what have you.

For the last 20yrs or so who has done a better job of developing as their country, Shabia or weyane?
    1. Would you go back to Eritrea and open business?
    2. Speaking of our economy, you and I as Eritrean citizen we don't even know our GDP or

  21. I wonder why AN ERITREAN need to compare himself with the WORST ENEMY EVER at all ?
We have seen many countries who have had a fight for decades but never sell themselves cheap for a third party inorder to win the war. Ethiopia has done the choice. On this case Ethiopia has given up the power to third party and is formed to fit a third party interest. So when we say Ethiopia we are not talking about our poor aid dependant unalphabetic neighbors who live on the rural areas. They are not the ones who decide nomore. There is foreign power who dance over these sick, deprived and forgotten communities. They are not seen as humans nomore. Woyane's muscles are pumped to press, demolish these creatures out of earth. When you discuss of Ethiopia discuss about the owners like Sheikh Amoudi, the Indian and Chinese owners and thier shareholders woyane gangs. Ethiopians has given up long ago. No more pride of WE is left. You see poor women leave behind them fatherless chinese, indian, somali, sudanese, yemeni mixed child every minute on the street. The municipality has got billions of dollars selling the product. So what we have in our neighborhood is no more Ethiopia but a salad boul of the whole world, a sample of ugly population with no rights. Woyane crimes have no end.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Correction** developing nation. Big difference. Eritrea will do in 10 years what Ethiopia has in the last 23yrs combined. We don't have soo many mouses to feed. Don't judge the developments by the number of GDP. Once our president opens the new chapter to Eritrea, your going to see Exxon or Shell back in Massawa sea and finishing the oil and gas exploration (that's proven to be there). Everything one step at a time. Our president understood the natural resource curse had done to many African countries. Eritrea will be the next Qatar of Africa. Young, rich and resourceful. Just wait... it's all under work. And we only have to watch over 6 million not 92.5 million mouses (expected to grow to 200 million by 2040).

    ReplyDelete
  23. It's two difference economies - one is handouts and the other one is self-built economy. Plus Eritrea's 80% of resources has not been explored such as oil and gas off the coast of red sea (which our neihbors saudi, sudan has abundant of). We're building a nation we could be proud of and what happens in the outside world wouldn't affect our outcomes. For Ethiopia, if all U.S. and EU donations had to stop, and you'll would have 70% of the population is a panic mode. Yes, Ethiopia is developing and i'm not hating, but it does not provide a fair share for the majority in terms of basic needs. Just wait till 2015 Ethiopian elections. There's already massive protest being built up and could turn violent because most are students like in Egypt Arab springs and they would it use that as a model.. But don't compare with Eritrea. Two fundamentally different countries.

Well let me add to the comments,
Eritreans were one of the most hard working and innovative people in Africa. To prove this we just need to look at our fathers and grand fathers. This spirit have been broken by HiGDEF purposely to destroy our pride. Look at us today , we hitting the road to all directions. Do you know how many people tried to open business such as small to mid size manufacturing plants ? Where are all these people today? Their spirit was intentionally broken by the incompetent HIGDEF administration. Do any of you dare today to go back and start a business there???? I am sure none of you dare to go back because we know what is going on there.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Entay, i answer to your questions.
    1) I'm already in Eritrea and i, as all Eritreans have a business, (i think you made a confusion about business, don't categorize business as solely a single person or single family owned like some wealth individuals, There are also a Mass owned businesses, to mention some example Bologna in Italy is one, Eritrea's economy is also prone to that type of economy, the Scandinavian is also similar to that). This to say in the above mentioned type of Country, you have a fair distributed health, school, food ect..primary needs guaranteed for all not in ethiopia unfortunately.
    2) To know or not GDP doesn't matter when the above mentioned NEEDS not met. It remains simple number.

    This question is to HGDEF
    PFDJ are you Eritreans?
If you are why you are making Eritrea and Eritreans what you are
    doing?
PFDJ DIA is beginning to Change the Generation of Eritrea
by mixing with DEMHIT after 2 years there will no Eritrean to have a
    place in Eritrea.

    I agree on that brother!
Many people wants to go back home and visit their family but unfortunately due to the incompetent leadership there, people have efficient and reliable air service that takes them back home. All these crap airways Olympic, Nova or NAS are worthless. We would benefit if Lufthansa, Ethiopian, AlItalian had service to Eritrea.

  35. Self -built economy??????? ahahahhahahhah what kind of economy you built? are you mean you built a country its people wishing to leave where ever they get the opportunity to leave their country? did you read what the Eritrean Catholic bishop wright "mear ab gezaka gedifikas mear endamatika ayitenadin"
you may not know budget since there is no budget in Eritrea, in Ethiopia the gov budget for 2007 E.c is 179b birr out of this only 23b birr is caver from lent and denotation.
for what you say about 2015 election I also expect same demonstration since we are beginner for democracy but it can not happen violence because most Ethiopian people feel now we are in the right direction for developing.

I can't believe what some eritrian are writing here!!! They are in total denial. I feel bad for them really I don't know when they will ever face the reality and try to solve their real problem than crying and blaming Ethiopia I particular tigray as the cause. For a person with a good mind he should have the capacity to sit down and see point by point his problems and try to find solutions to it. Cuz dear Eritreans am sorry to say but your problem is back home you need to get your shit together. You are sinking and ethiopia is not your problem. Please wake up don't let jealousy cripple you. In stead of envying and wishing death on your neighbors get up and fight for your rights that is the starting point. I never ever in my life imagined eritrean to be this delusional. It's so sad..... I pity you from my deepest heart cuz I feel you will never get out of your mess for another century. Man up and get your fucking leader out. Try to live in peace with your neighbors cuz you should be smart for yourself you are nothing without your neighbors 20 yrs and you still can't get it. Please stop wasting your time writing articles and posts about tigray or ethiopia don't waste your time on symptoms than your core problem. Ahiyawin

To add on what I have said above. It's a fact that colonized societies always get into crises it could be either self hate like how we see Asians trying so hard to lighten their skin, you also see some colonized societies loosing their self confidence and live thinking that white is better than them at the same time they look down on their fellow African brother thinking their are special and might even think they are different and the sad part is this gets transfered to generations that come next. What is special and what has one got to be proud of being fucked in the brain by a slave maker honestly. One can only be proud to keep his own history and his own identity. That is why Eritreans will always blame ethiopia and they can never free themselves of oppression cuz they have been weakened by colonization slaver. It kills the spirt it's like being raped. Am sorry Eriteans your suffering will go on and on you have not learned yet that you are still ethiopian and still African. No you are not Frenej and no you are not special, you are not more attractive or intelligent no you are the same and almost indifferentialable from any regular ethiopian yes 20 yrs has past you where your whole nation is going back in time and no ethiopia or tigray is not the cause but your raped colonized slave mentality that won't be easy to clean and I think totally hopeless. No you are not heros you are not freedom fighter you are feri a bad one for that matter that is why you die and sink in ships trying to run from one man. And yes he is a hero cuz he caught you all by the balls cuz he is tigrean sorry dudes you need plan B
