More Ethiopian Refugees Enter Eritrea
Over 270 Ethiopian refugees entered Eritrea for the month of January. On average, around 250 Ethiopian civilians and military officers enter Eritrea every month seeking political asylum. Most of the Ethiopian refugees interviewed stated they are escaping from Ethiopia's intensifying political repression, systematic crackdowns and killings. It is to be recalled the same time last year, a record-breaking 42,000 Ethiopian refugees fled Ethiopia and ventured off to Yemen (Reuters) and tens of thousands more fled to Kenya, Sudan and Eritrea.
